During the tour, Rishi Sunak and Jeremy Hunt had the opportunity to explore the training facilities, witnessing firsthand our emphasis on working closely with employers to support their skills needs and help Londoners into good quality, well-paid work. The visit underscored our role as a UK leader in innovative education and skills training, aligning our curriculum with the evolving needs of industry, and contributing to the UK Government’s targets to cut CO2 emissions and achieve skilled worker targets.

During the visit, the Prime Minister reiterated the Government’s commitment to get young people the skills they need to get great jobs by providing a world-class education through the creation of a new Advanced British Standard qualification that will place technical and academic qualifications on an equal footing, teaching Maths and English to every child through to 18 years old, and by extending teaching grants to further education colleges.
