If you’re aged 19 or over, and if you are looking to get a job, advance in your career, go to university, or start something new, we can help. Overall, 94.2% of our students study for free at our colleges.

We have many courses for adults that can help you achieve your goals – including Access to Higher Education diplomas, practical work-based courses (from Entry Level to Level 3), A Level Intensives, Higher Education (Level 4 and above), and apprenticeships.

Studying at college might seem daunting if you have been out of a classroom or workshop for a while. At Capital City College Group, we will do our best to support you through your course, whatever your situation. We offer a flexible approach to learning, and the Learner Experience team is on-hand to provide help – from childcare to funding and financial support – so that you can complete your qualification

We also know that the cost of studying can be a worry for adult students, so we offer all of our Entry Level to Level 2 courses for FREE, regardless of your age or income.

If you’re not quite sure what you’d like to study or want to retrain for a new career, we also run a large range of free, part-time short courses, including courses at Level 3 and Level 4, where you can get a taste of a subject because you embark on a longer course.

All of our centres have classrooms and workshops with industry-recommended equipment, as well as well-stocked libraries, social spaces, and cafes, creating a vibrant, sociable place to study alongside students of all ages and backgrounds.

Access to Higher Education

Access to Higher Education courses is for adults who wish to return to education to prepare for higher education. Higher Education courses are those that are Level 4 or higher, including university degrees.

Access to Higher Education courses is designed to give you the knowledge, skills, and qualifications you need to enter a university or higher education institution. Learners who have studied with us have progressed to a number of prestigious universities to complete degrees in various subjects, including Medicine at St George’s, Pharmacy at Kings College London, and Mechanical Engineering at City University, amongst many others.

During an Access to Higher Education course, you gain the relevant academic subject knowledge needed for higher education study, as well as the opportunity to develop study skills to help you to succeed. You also develop practical skills in bespoke learning spaces. You are assessed through a range of methods, including assignments, exams, presentations, observation of practical work, and practical reports.

Our Learner Experience team is here to support, encourage and help you thrive while studying with us. They provide quality advice and guidance and can also offer learning support to help you if you need extra help with English or Maths, if you have dyslexia, or if you have a disability or a learning difficulty.

Our qualified and experienced team has been awarded the Matrix quality standard for information advice and guidance services; this is a national quality standard for the effective delivery of information, advice, and guidance on learning and work.

As part of our support services, we:

  • Guide you through course options and progression opportunities
  • Provide advice on finance and childcare support
  • Offer guidance on becoming entrepreneurs and developing enterprise initiatives
