Railway Engineering

Train travel is at the heart of connectivity throughout London, the UK and Europe as a whole, with over 4 million journeys being made across the 20,000 miles of track in England, Scotland and Wales each and every day. Rail Track Engineers help ensure train services are safe, reliable and efficient, servicing the network and helping things run smoothly.

Our courses provide a thorough understanding of Rail Track Engineering, including the railway infrastructure, signalling systems and overhead line equipment. At our Enfield Centre, you'll find a fully equipped, specialist workshop to help replicate working in the industry, with many of our students going on to work in companies such as VGC Limited, Volker Rail, Aspins, Infocus Rail, McGinleys and Colas Rail.

Topics and skills covered include:

  • Preparing to undertake duties in the rail industry
  • Working safely in the rail industry
  • How to use relevant power tools to perform maintenance tasks successfully and safely
  • Prepare small plant, measuring equipment and tools for renewal or maintenance

Our Railway courses are a part of our Railway Academy which was awarded ‘Training Provider of the Year‘ by the National Training Academy for Rail (NTAR) for two consecutive years and works with well-known employers including SiemensAlstomThales, and Transport for London.
