Capital City College students learn the ins and outs of applying to medical school at an informative workshop hosted by the University of Exeter.
Capital City College (CCC) students considering a career in medicine attended an Applying to Medicine workshop at the college’s Angel centre. The event, which took place on 9 October, welcomed a group of 16 CCC students from A Level courses, Access to Medicine courses, and vocational courses.
The interactive session was led by Catherine O’Mahony, School and College Engagement Officer at the University of Exeter. During the workshop, students gained valuable insight into the application process for medical school.

Students also had the opportunity to further their knowledge and access advice during a Q&A session at the end of the workshop.
The session enabled students to gain detailed information on the application process and UCAT test, learn about the expectations of medical schools and explore alternative routes into medicine.
The event was coordinated by team members within CCC’s Careers Department. Careers Manager Stefania Caria organised the event and Sarah Greene, Higher Education and Careers Advisor, oversaw the workshop on the day.
