Taster Sessions - Capital City College Group

We are happy to offer a taster day package bespoke to you and your students. Our subject staff are on hand to deliver interactive taster sessions and you are also welcome to select any of our engagement activities to be delivered on the day. We are happy to arrange separate Taster Days if you have specific requirements.

A day in the life of a CANDI learner	This 60-minute session is designed to give students a taste of what it would be like to study at CONEL. The session takes place at our centres and is interactive, they allow students the opportunity to ask questions, experience college facilities and discover first-hand what it is like to be a learner at CONEL.		60 mins	Presentation

Student Life	This interactive taster will give students an insight into a day in the life of a college student. Students will explore our on-site facilities, work placement and volunteer opportunities along with all the added perks.	Flexible	60 mins	Taster	5, 7

Careers Quiz	This fun-filled interactive session walks students through a careers quiz, identifying key skills that they have and how these are linked to different careers using the START profile.	Year 10-11	60 mins	Interactive activity	2, 3, 4, 7
Sell Yourself / Mock Interviews	An engaging workshop which encourages students to recognise their skills, strengths and aspirations. Through a series of activities, students will learn the do’s and don’ts when producing a CV or personal statement. We understand how daunting an interview can be! This is why we offer a variety of mock interviews, which can be adapted for different job sectors/university interviews.	Year 10-11	60 mins	Interactive activity	2, 3, 7
Results Day Support	An informal advice session to reassure students and tackle any pre-results anxiety. The session will advise students on what to do if they don’t get the results they expect and where to go for support.	Year 11	Flexible	IAG	8
