Alastair has over 25 years of international board and executive-level leadership experience. He is a board director/Council member of The London School of Economics and Chair of the digital education business, 01 Founders Limited, which provides innovative coding and software development training leading to employment for a diverse cohort of learners. Alastair previously served as a Council member of the University of Sussex and has now taken the role of Pro-Chancellor of The University of Leeds.
Between 2018-21 Alastair served as a Commissioner to the UK Government’s Social Mobility Commission where he was lead commissioner for further education and adult skills. The Commission’s 2021 State of the Nation report provided a comprehensive, evidence-led post-pandemic recovery programme.
Alastair has also served as executive director of a leadership development company, as Executive Chair of a boutique executive search business and was the first CEO of an international youth charity.
