Business and finance students hear from experienced CEO and FTSE100 board member Diane Brightmore-Armour at Speakers for Schools event.
On 15 October, over a hundred students attended an inspiring talk by Diane Brightmore-Armour at Capital City College (CCC).
Diane, who is CEO of C Hoare & Co., the UK’s oldest private bank, delivered a motivating and informative talk to students from a range of courses, including Business courses, Accounting courses and T Level courses.
The event, which was organised in conjunction with Speakers for Schools, gave students an insight into Diane’s experience and career, which has included a number of FTSE100 Board member roles and prestigious positions such as CEO of the Corporate Bank at Lloyds Banking Group, CEO Europe for an Australian bank, and her current role as CEO of C Hoare & Co.
C Hoare & Co. is the UK’s oldest privately owned bank and has a unique history. The bank was established in 1672 when Richare Hoare set up his business safeguarding gold and valuables under the sign of the Golden Bottle on Cheapside. Richard Hoare was later knighted by Queen Anne and became Lord Mayor of the City of London in 1712. The bank has welcomed many well-known historical customers over the years such as Samuel Pepyu, Jane Austen and Lord Byron. C Hoare & Co. has remained under the ownership of the Hoare family for 12 generations and carries out philanthropic work through The Golden Bottle Trust which, in 2023, donated £2.83 million to 307 charities.
