Beauty Therapy - Level 1 Diploma

This course will help you develop your practical skills for improving the appearance of clients' hands and feet with basic manicure and pedicure services.

You will be able to provide relaxing head massage treatments, cleansing and toning routines, and advice for a good skincare routine.

You will also develop basic makeup application techniques.

You will learn:

• How to follow health and safety in the salon
• Introduction to the hair and beauty sector
• How to provide basic manicure treatments
• How to provide basic pedicure treatments
• Salon reception duties
• Skincare
• The art of photographic make-up
• Themed face painting
• Working with others in the hair and beauty sector
• Basic makeup application
• How to create a hair and beauty image
• Nail art application
• Presenting a professional image in a salon

You will need:

• A good understanding of English at entry level 3 enables you to sit exams and complete assignments
• Any Entry 3 or Level 1 equivalent qualification previously achieved in any subject

You will be assessed through practical observation, oral questions, online exams, and completed assignments.

AGED 16 - 18

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August 2025 before the start date of the course, and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your course then your study with us will be free.

Adults - ENTRY LEVEL/LEVEL 2

This course may be free if you meet certain conditions:

• If you are not working or have a low income. You need to show proof of your income or benefits.
• Residency rules apply. You need to show you have permission to live, work and study in the UK without conditions.
• There are some exceptions, such as certain visa types.

If you do not meet the residency rules, you can still enrol on the course, but you may have to pay some fees. All applicants are fee-assessed during enrolment.

If you are not eligible for a free or reduced-cost course, you need to pay the full fee.

You can progress into a Level 2 Diploma in Beauty, a Level 2 Diploma in Nails, a Level 2 Diploma in Hair or Level 2 in Media Makeup.
