This course will be delivered at the new Centre for Applied Technology in Soho, in the heart of London's Digital and Creative economy. This is an exciting new addition to Westminster Kingsway College, opening in September 2024.

The repurposed Soho Centre will act as a beacon for world-class Creative and Digital sector provision, providing a talent pipeline of qualified and experienced individuals to access the fantastic career opportunities in these sectors.
This course will introduce you to both traditional and digital techniques for the games, animation and VFX industry. You will use current game engine technology, such as Unreal Engine 4, to design 2D and 3D playable games, and draw concept art of characters, environments and objects.
You will learn how to create 3D assets using Maya, 3DS Max and Blender, develop your storytelling skills and apply them to 2D animation projects. You will be at the forefront of new innovative techniques, learning how to generate original ideas to present to the industry. Our King's Cross Centre is fully equipped with the latest state-of-the-art facilities, including high-spec Alienware computer suites, industry software, traditional drawing tools, sound and recording studios, replicating the workplace for your studies.
Extended Diplomas have two one-year programmes. You need to finish the first year before moving on to the second.
This course consists of two separate qualifications. In your first year of study, you will work towards the Level 3 90-Credit Diploma. Following successful completion of this qualification, you will be able to progress to the Extended Diploma. Our Extended Diplomas offer equivalent UCAS points to studying 3 A Levels.

The course is assessed throughout the year and with an end-of-course portfolio.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August prior to the start date of your course and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your programme then your study with us will be free. Please see here for the documents you will need to show us.

This course will help you to move on to higher level courses, such as a Bachelor of Arts, or to pursue employment in the animation, Games Design, VFX and Media industry.
Jake joined Westminster Kingsway College as a student in the Games and Animation Course in 2012. He studied Games Technology at Bournemouth University, gaining a Bachelor's Degree. In 2022, he joined the teaching team at Westminster Kingsway College.
Jake holds a BSc Hons in Games Technology from Bournemouth University.
Jake's interests include 3D Modeling, Game Design, Perspective Drawing, and Architecture.
Zoe is a passionate 2D/3D Animator who graduated from Teesside University in 2016. She has since been involved in various freelance ventures and film projects such as animated documentaries and motion graphic advertisements. She started teaching at Westminster Kingsway College in 2021 where she has worked to introduce new skills and industry practices to the college.
Ade Anwar is the Curriculum Manager for Digital. Previously he was the Course Leader for the Animation and Games Design course and worked in industry specialising in Games Design.
As a Curriculum Manager, Ade supports the Digital team which consists of Level 3 Information Technology, Games Animation and VFX and Higher Education courses in Computer Science and Cybersecurity. The role of a Curriculum Manager has allowed him to lead verify for awarding bodies such as BTEC, AIM Nextgen, University Of The Arts London and Staffordshire University.
As part of Ade’s teaching, he is a Contextual Studies and Unreal Engine practitioner, achieving an Excellence Award in 2023. Beyond the classroom, he was an Adobe Youth Voices educator who led the UK team to the San Francisco Summit in 2011, he also mentored apprentices at the VFX studio Framestore and mentored for the World Skills Competition where the learners won the 3D Design category on multiple occasions.

Educator, Art Director, Illustrator, and Creative, Panicos is a skilled and passionate creative professional with an extensive background in the creative industries. Panico’s journey in the world of Art and Design has taken them from the vibrant creative hub of London to the diverse and culturally rich landscape of Johannesburg, South Africa.
Panicos hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of the Arts London, Camberwell College of Art and Design, which they completed in the years 2005 to 2008. Panicos also holds a PGSE at the Institute of Education from 2009-2010. This educational foundation has provided them with a strong and diverse skill set that they continue to draw upon.
As an Art Director, Panicos has had the opportunity to lead and inspire creative teams, steering projects to success and ensuring they align with the artistic vision and goals of an organisation. The role as an Illustrator has allowed Panicos to express their artistic creativity and storytelling abilities. Whether through digital or traditional mediums, Panicos has a deep appreciation for the power of visual communication and its ability to evoke emotion and convey complex ideas.
Presently, Panicos is associated with an internationally renowned company with offices in major creative hubs, including London, New York, Paris, Hamburg, and Shanghai. This global exposure has enriched their creative perspective and allowed them to collaborate with diverse talents from around the world.
