Seema Malhotra, the Shadow Minister for Education and MP for Feltham and Heston, paid a visit to Westminster Kingsway College’s Victoria Centre on 31 October.
During her time at the college, she toured the specialist facilities at the School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts while learning about the college’s rich history.
She also spoke to students about what it was like to attend the college and had the opportunity to see them in action. Students at WestKing’s School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts frequently work together across all levels to serve the college’s highly respected training restaurants. The unique training environment offered at The Vincent Rooms enables students to hone their skills and prepare them for professional life beyond their courses.
Paul Jervis, Head of the School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts, said: “At Westminster Kingsway College, we teach beyond the National Qualifications to develop the skills the industry considers valuable and essential. It is really important to have ministers come and see what we do and understand the skills being delivered so when decisions are made about the future of the qualifications, they can be informed of what is needed.”
