Enrolment information (age 16-18)

If you are aged 16-18, please see below for detailed information about residency and other documents you need to bring to enrolment.

To enrol with us, we need to see your proof of residency in the UK. In all cases below, your proof must be in date and cover you for the duration of your course.

If you cannot provide evidence of your residency, please contact us to discuss.

Residency Documents

To show that you have lived in the UK for a certain number of years before your course starts, we need to see some documents. We cannot accept a driver’s license as proof of residency.

Here are the different types of documents we accept:

a) Biometric Residency Permit (BRP): Most BRPs expired on 31st Dec 2024. We will now need to see your old BRP and your e-visa to determine if you will be considered a Home or Overseas student. Please make sure you have the original document you used to create your e-visa account with you. This will allow you to access your Home Office account and generate a Share Code for us. If someone else, like a family member or parent, made the application for you, you will need them to provide the share code. If you are a family member or dependent on somebody else to live in the UK, you will need to meet the residency criteria in your own right. There are exceptions where you will always be overseas. Please contact us to discuss.

b) In date British or Irish passport

c) Full British Birth Certificate with photo ID: If you are 16-18 years old, we will need to see your mother’s passport or documents of residency in the UK. Depending on your mother’s status at the time of your birth may mean that you require EUSS/ILR or British Citizenship. If you are not sure, please contact us to discuss.

d) EU/EEA/Swiss applicants: We will need proof of your EUSS Pre or Settled Status. We can no longer accept your EU/EEA/Swiss passport or ID card as proof of residency. Your EUSS document must state that you can study. We may need evidence that you have lived in the EU/EEA/Switzerland and the UK for the 3 years before your course starts. Please make sure you have the original document you used for your EUSS application with you. This will allow you to access your Home Office account and generate a Share Code for us. If someone else, like a family member or parent, made the application for you, you will need them to provide the share code.

e) If you have a Certificate of Application for EUSS, you must have made your application to the Home Office within 90 days of arriving in the UK. You must be able to demonstrate that your case is still pending with the Home Office. If not, you will need to show us evidence that your case is at an appeal or administrative review stage. If your case has expired, you will need to provide evidence of your legal right to remain in the UK.

f) Spouse or family member: If you have an EUSS Spouse or Family Member visa, we will need to see your Entry Clearance Visa, and your Marriage Certificate or Birth Certificate, your spouse’s/civil partner’s/family member’s EUSS document, and evidence that your spouse/civil partner/family member has lived in the EU/EEA/Switzerland and the UK for the past 3 years. Your proofs of residency should last for 12 months in duration. Otherwise, you need to meet the residency criteria in your own right.

Residency statuses that don’t require 3 years of proof
