Tucked away in the heart of Westminster and overlooking the historic Vincent Square, The Vincent Rooms is a trio of elegant eating areas where some of the UK’s best chefs and hospitality professionals have trained, including MasterChef: The Professionals winners Tom Hamblet (2024), Nikita Pathakji (2022), and Alex Webb (2020), and the 2025 Young Chef Olympiad winner Kamran Taylor.
On 6 May, it welcomed guests to celebrate its reopening and to showcase its renewed mission to train the next generation of culinary professionals and make a lasting social impact through food and hospitality.
With over 100 years of hospitality and culinary heritage, the college first opened in 1910 with the support of legendary chef Auguste Escoffier and hotelier César Ritz – two of the most influential names in the history of fine dining and hospitality. Since then, the college has remained a leader in professional training, with many graduates going on to work in top kitchens around the world. Alumni include Jamie Oliver, Ainsley Harriott, Anthony Worrall Thompson, Andy Wong, and Ben Murphy.
The Vincent Rooms are made up of:
Every dish is cooked and served by students as part of their training and follow the criteria set by the awarding organisations such as the City & Guilds to achieve industry-standard skills. The service is professional and friendly, just like what diners would expect from a top London restaurant. Some students will also achieve the coveted ‘Westminster Diploma’, awarded by the college to those who excel during their training.
Celebrity chef Michel Roux Jr said: “It’s an honour to be here at The Vincent Rooms to launch the fabulous new restaurant, café and brasserie. I can’t wait to come here as a guest.”
Angela Joyce, Chief Executive of Capital City College, added: “The Vincent Rooms at our Westminster campus is a beacon of excellence within the college sector; showcasing how partnerships between industry and education can create a highly skilled workforce. The ‘Westminster Diploma’ is the gold standard within hospitality and culinary arts, and there are many great chefs and hoteliers who are having incredible careers following their time at the College. We are so proud to have invested in the Vincent Rooms that will not only provide fine dining, casual dining and a café for the public, it will enable us to support hundreds of future chefs, hoteliers and restaurateurs.”
Rose Wangen-Jones, Managing Director, Marketing, Destination & Commercial at London & Partners, commented: “Being one of London’s best-kept secrets, The Vincent Rooms is where world-class talent is not only discovered but nurtured. Its reopening marks an exciting new chapter in the city’s culinary offer, where guests can enjoy outstanding food while supporting the next generation of hospitality stars. Having seen this first-hand when The Vincent Rooms catered for the London Growth Plan launch, I am able to speak to their impact and quality. This is the kind of uniquely London experience that brings together heritage, creativity, and social impact, all in one dynamic setting.”
Jackie Chapman, Group Principal for Apprenticeships, Partnerships and Innovation at Capital City College, said: “The alumni that they have taught span the globe and help to inspire others. This investment will enable us to support more students and expand the fabulous dining experience with the increased opening hours.”
