Lati Gutta, 18, is heading to Cambridge University to study Human, Social and Political Sciences after gaining A* grades in sociology and politics and an A in philosophy.
She said: “I feel over the moon. I can hardly describe how I’m feeling right now, it’s not really sunk in yet. Some of my friends were there when I opened the envelope and I just burst into tears.
“There was a lot of added pressure to get the grades to get into Cambridge, but I’m really excited that I am now going to university. I almost didn’t apply but I kept surprising myself along the way. I got an interview and then offer. I’ve proved to myself I can do things well.”
David Kennedy, 18, is swapping the city for the country as he heads to Exeter University to study Politics and Economics after getting an A in Economics, B in English Literature and Creative Writing.

“I opened the envelope with some of my friends and we’d all done well which is good. I’m excited about going to university. I wanted to move out of London and see some of the country, and looking forward to having that freedom away from home.”
Peter Murray, Director of the Sixth Form College, said: “It’s been another great year for the college with more students than ever taking their A Levels here.
“As in previous years, hundreds of our students will be progressing to some of the world’s finest universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, King’s and Imperial. Well done to them and to all our A Level students.
“We offer a huge number and variety of A Level subjects here – one of the widest ranges in London. As well as the traditional A Level subjects such as English, Maths and Physics, students can study subjects that very few sixth forms offer, including photography, politics and dance. We are proud of the range of courses we offer and of the diversity of experiences that our students can enjoy when they choose to study with us.”
