The Green Skills Academy works with employers to create a skilled workforce able to retrofit environmentally friendly energy systems to reduce emissions, address longstanding skill shortages in the construction sector, and target emerging green occupations. If you manage a business within the sector, we want to hear from you.
We provide free training opportunities and support packages to help Londoners find jobs in the Green sector. We do this by providing bespoke, flexible learning programmes to fit individual circumstances and availability. We aim to give them the confidence and skills they need to be employable within three to five weeks, and to guarantee a job interview with an employer accredited with the Good Work Standard.
The Green Skills Academy provides training to produce a pipeline of skilled workers able to retrofit environmentally friendly energy systems and emerging green technologies to reduce emissions and address the long-standing skill shortage in the construction sector.
Our partners have extensive links to employers within the green construction sectors, including Wates, Retrofit Works, North London Waste Authority, Morgan Sindall, Vistry Partnerships, and Peabody, who provide training and work placements, leading to guaranteed interviews and job opportunities covered by the Good Work scheme.
Our Mayors’ Skills Academies are all accredited by The Quality Mark, which identifies our academies as excellent, industry-relevant training in the capital. The Quality Mark Statement also represents our commitment to including a combination of sector-specific questions and wider cross-cutting issues, such as diversity and inclusion, sustainability, Good Work, and the engagement of underrepresented groups.
