This course is designed to introduce you to professional cooking, with a focus on the skills required to produce petit fours and teatime cakes.
WHAT WILL I STUDY?
An 8-week concise course focused on the preparation and baking of petit fours and teatime cakes.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Every applicant is required to undergo an initial assessment and interview to ensure the course is a good fit.
COURSEWORK REQUIREMENTS
The course includes ongoing practical assessments, and upon successful completion, learners will receive a certificate from Capital City College.
FEES
Adults - LEVEL 2
This course may be free for you if you meet certain conditions:
If you are not working or have a low income. You need to show proof of your income or benefits.
If you are aged 19-23 and you do not have the equivalent of five GCSEs at grade 9-4. You need to show us proof of any qualifications you already have.
Residency rules apply. You need to show you have permission to live, work and study in the UK without conditions.
There are some exceptions, such as certain visa types.

If you do not meet the residency rules, you can still enrol on the course but you may have to pay some fees. All applicants are fee-assessed during enrolment.
If you are not eligible for a free or reduced-cost course, you need to pay the full fee.
Some courses have additional costs, such as for specialist materials and trips.

You are required to purchase the necessary uniform and equipment for the programme that meet industry standards and safety regulations. These must adhere to Capital City College specifications and cost approximately £350; more details will be provided upon enrolment. PROGRESSION
You may continue their careers as cooks or chefs in the hospitality sector, with opportunities for promotion, and may advance to a Level 2 course.
