ABOUT THE COURSE

ESOL stands for English for Speakers of Other Languages. Entry Level ESOL courses are for people who speak English as a second or other language, and who are resident or permanently settled in the UK.

These courses will help you to increase your independence, as well as develop the language skills you need for everyday life, employment and further study.

They take you through Pre-Entry, Entry Level 1 (Beginner), Entry Level 2, and Entry Level 3, Level 1 and Level 2 ESOL.

Classes run in the mornings (Camden Road and Finsbury Park), afternoons (Camden Road and Finsbury Park) and evenings (Finsbury Park ONLY).

There are lots of different course options to meet your needs. You can start courses at different times in the year. You can join at various points between September and early March if there are places available.

  • Writing skills
  • Speaking and listening skills

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

Your skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing will be assessed through examinations or ongoing class assessments (depending on which course you join).

If you are in receipt of income-tested benefits or earn less than a certain amount, you may be able to study for free or for a reduced fee. Please bring evidence of any benefits you currently receive, dated within the last six months, to your interview. You will be advised of any reduction in the course fees at the end of your interview.
