ABOUT THE COURSE

T Levels are a two-year qualification, equivalent to three A-levels, and are designed by employers and businesses to ensure students are learning industry-specific content and up-to-date industry standards to prepare them to work in the healthcare sector or progress onto higher education.

For 80% of the T Level you will be learning in a classroom or simulated setting, and 20% will be learning through your industry placement. The industry placement will be in a healthcare setting, and you will have to complete a minimum of 45 days. Embedded within the T-level will be students learning English, Math and Digital skills, weekly tutorials, and 2 hours of Education Enhancement Program where students will learn contextualised English/Math and Digital skills.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Year 1

In the first year of Supporting Adult Nursing Team route, you will learn a range of topics that will boost your knowledge in scientific practices, person centred care, infection control, following legislations and current guidelines. In addition, you will also learn core science content relating to health care. During industry placement you will learn how to apply content that you have learnt to practice, as well as shadowing and learning basic clinical skills. Finally, Math, English and digital skills will be integreated within the qualification and will be applied in occupationally relevant context.

Year 2

In your final year of studies, you will start to learn and understand what adult nursing means, how you can support the team and understand how professionals meet the needs of adults. You will learn through classroom-based learning and industry placement how to assist with clinical tasks, for example; moving and handling, taking physiological measurements, applying simple wound dressings and collecting specimens. You will also learn to assist with skin integrity assessments and treat and manage skin conditions. In Year 2 you now apply what you have learned over the course of 2 years in your industry placement, assisting the nurses on the teams to ensure they meet individual needs.
