
All businesses need enterprising employees to drive their organisations forward, to have ideas and initiatives to instigate growth, and to ensure that businesses survive in this fast-changing world. People with enterprising skills can be a real asset to an organisation and these skills provide the basis for developing the entrepreneurial skills needed to run an enterprise. Enterprise is a key government focus and is set to form an important part of the UK's global economic status, both now and in the future. This course equips you with those skills, allowing you to get the skills, knowledge and behaviours expected by employers in this sector.
Topics covered may include: Business purposes Customer relations Financial forecasting in business Using office equipment Using ICT in business environments Business enterprise and communication Personal selling and business online
You will need:Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, incuding English Language and Maths OR a Level 1 qualification at merit with Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 1. All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
The course is assessed throughout the year through in class tests, presentations, projects, reports, essay's and work placement observations. You will be required to produce a portfolio of work at the end of the course, meet all deadlines throughout the course and receive positive feedback from your placement officer.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. This course will help you to move on to higher level courses, such as Business at Level 3 or an apprenticeship.
