Plumbing - Introduction (Enfield Construction Skills Academy)

This course provides basic insight into plumbing and gives you the hand skills necessary to carry out small plumbing tasks.

At the end of the course, you will have learnt basic plumbing processes and operations, including:

• Health and safety within the industry
• Hand tools operations
• Forming capillary joints
• Forming compression joints
• Bending copper pipe
• Fitting small items such as sinks

Please have your residency documents ready, such as a passport, Evisa/Sharecode, UK Birth Certificate, or Biometric Card. If you have been in the UK for less than 3 years or have entered the UK with a visa, you will need to provide evidence that you are eligible to study in the UK - your visa, your biometric card that covers the duration of your course or any relevant Home Office documents to support your residency should all be uploaded. If you’re an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen, we will need to see evidence of 'Pre-Settled' or 'Settled-status' documents. For funding purposes, please provide payslips if you're employed (from the last 3 months). If you are receiving benefits (e.g., JSA, ESA, Universal Credit (UC), Housing Benefit, etc.), please bring evidence of this.

Free unless earning over £28,860pa (then £75)

You can progress on to further study within this vocational area. You are also able to progress to other taster programmes to widen your skills base.

Approaching employment opportunities at entry level is also an option moving forward.
