About the Course

The advanced Database Software and Design course is designed to advance learners' understanding of database systems by developing both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise.  

 

What Will I Study?

This course builds on fundamental database concepts and explores more complex database structures, data management techniques, and advanced querying methods.  

Learners will gain in-depth experience in designing, implementing, and optimising databases.

Topics covered include:

  • Data normalisation
  • Indexing
  • Database security
  • Data integrity

Through hands-on  practical exercises, students will develop skills in creating and managing relational databases, writing complex queries, automating processes, and generating detailed reports for data analysis.

What Will I Need?

Entry Requirements

Please be prepared to provide the following documents to complete your enrolment:

Proof of Residency

  • passport,
  • Evisa/share code,
  • Full UK Birth certificate
  • ARC (Asylum)

 

If you have lived in the UK for less than three years or entered the UK on a visa, you will need to provide evidence confirming your eligibility to study. This should include your Evisa together with any relevant Home Office documentation showing that your immigration status is valid for the full duration of your course.

 

Proof of Income

  • If you are employed, this should include payslips (less than 3 months)
  • If you are Self-employed you will need to show income for the last 3 months
  • If you receive benefits, you will need to provide supporting evidence (e.g., Jobseeker’s Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, or Universal Credit (less than 3 months).
