The Apprenticeships+ and hospitality teams at Capital City College (CCC) won the Best Apprenticeship in Hospitality, Travel & Tourism award at the Apprenticeship Guide Awards 2026.
The prestigious national awards ceremony took place at New Dock Hall in Leeds, bringing together employers, training providers and apprenticeship champions from across the country.
Organised by Barker Brooks Communications, which has been supporting apprentices through its Apprenticeship Guide for 21 years, in partnership with Aptem, the Apprenticeship Guide Awards drew a record-breaking number of attendees this year, with employers, training providers, universities, schools, colleges and apprenticeship champions gathering from across the UK to celebrate excellence in the sector.
The CCC teams enjoyed a well-deserved win in the Best Apprenticeship in Hospitality, Travel & Tourism against strong competition including pub, bar and restaurant operator Mitchells & Butlers, who received a Highly Commended in the same category.
“Winning the Best Hospitality Apprenticeship Award is a testament to a fabulous, dedicated, and highly skilled team whose commitment shines through everything we do. The drive to see every learner achieve their full potential is what truly sets us apart and managing this area makes me extremely proud of all that we have achieved and will continue to achieve. This isn’t just an award, it’s a celebration of excellence, passion, and unwavering teamwork”, said Sharon Barry, Group Head of School – Apprenticeship & Culinary Arts.
The win was a testament to the dedication of its teams, colleagues and employer partners, whose hard work shapes the high-quality apprenticeship opportunities that in turn help drive our students’ career progression in industry.
“We are incredibly proud of this recognition” says Debbie Houghton, Group Principal Apprenticeships, Partnerships & Innovation at CCC. “It reflects the hard work of our teams and employer partners in creating apprenticeship opportunities that are rooted in real industry demand and designed to support our learners to thrive and progress.”
