Optics

Optics helps you help others see the world, focusing on ophthalmics and ophthalmology - the eye diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions.

Our courses can provide you with all the knowledge and skills required to become a General Optical Council (GOC) registered Dispensing Optician or to progress onto further study at university. Taught at our specialist centre in Angel, we have state-of-the-art ophthalmic equipment to ensure your studies enable you to put theory into practice.

Designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the principles and applications of optics, our course offers a captivating blend of theory and practical experiments. Through a series of engaging classes, students delve into topics such as geometric optics, wave optics, polarization, interference, diffraction, and optical instruments.
