Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools - Level 2 Certificate

This course combines theory with practical study, to give you a good understanding of what’s involved in supporting teaching and learning and how you can enhance the development of a child or young person. You’ll learn all about how children develop their understanding, professional best practice and how to promote learning.

Topics covered can include:

• Providing support for learning activities
• Supporting child development
• Keeping children safe
• Contributing to positive relationships
• Providing effective support to colleagues

You will need:

• To be volunteering, or working in a school environment, for at least 12 hours per week
• An Enhanced DBS check

All applicants must have an interview and assessment to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

Assessment is by work in class, your portfolio and the results of your observation by the assessor.

Adults - Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2

If you will be aged 19+ on 31st August prior to the start date of your course, up to Level 2, then your study with us will be free. You must have lived for 3 years within the EU/EEA/UK prior to the start of your course, you must have lived in the UK before 1st January 2021 and you must have permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months from the first day of learning. On completion of this course, progression to the Level 3 or apprenticeship, will provide you with a broader knowledge of the industry. You are also able to apply for employment in a variety of environments including nurseries and pre-schools, in jobs such as nursery assistant or classroom assistant.
