ABOUT

This is a non-accredited programme designed for learners with an EHCP who are working at Entry Level 1-2. Delivered under the RARPA framework (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement), the course provides a personalised curriculum focused on preparation for adulthood, independence, and social confidence.

This programme is ideal for learners who require a highly structured, practical, and supportive environment to develop functional life skills, personal confidence, and communication. The course promotes independence, real-life engagement, and learning through doing, with a strong emphasis on routine, consistency, and individual progress based on EHCP outcomes.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Learners will build core life, social and employability skills through engaging, practical units, tailored to their individual needs and learning profiles. Each unit supports personal growth and encourages meaningful participation in both group and individual tasks.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

This programme is designed specifically for learners with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) working at Entry Level 1/2. There are no academic entry requirements. It is best suited to learners who benefit from a structured, routine-based environment with high levels of support and who are working towards increased independence and engagement in adult life.

COURSEWORK REQUIREMENTS

Assessment follows the RARPA model, focusing on individual starting points and distance travelled. There are no formal exams or qualifications. Instead, learners are supported to:

  • Set personalised goals based on EHCP outcomes
  • Track progress through learner journals, scrapbooks, and portfolios
  • Collect evidence through photos, group feedback, and tutor observations
  • Take part in reflection and review sessions to celebrate achievements

Success is measured by confidence gained, progress made, and engagement with learning, not by test results.
