Discover the joy of movement, wellness, and community! Our Active Leisure and Healthy Living course is specially designed for adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Through fun, accessible activities and practical sessions, you will build confidence, improve fitness, and develop lifelong healthy habits in a supportive and inclusive environment.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Modules can include:

  • Improve physical health through fun, low-impact activities
  • Learn about healthy eating and how to make simple, balanced food choices.
  • Build daily routines that support physical and mental wellbeing.
  • Develop social and communication skills through group activities and teamwork.
  • Gain confidence and independence in managing their own health and leisure time.
  • Explore local leisure opportunities such as parks, gyms, and community centres.
  • Set personal goals for fitness, relaxation, and lifestyle improvements.

All sessions are tailored to individual needs in a supportive, inclusive environment that encourages progress at your own pace.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no formal requirements for this course.

COURSEWORK REQUIREMENTS

Assessment is ongoing, accessible, and personalised through the RARPA model. Each learner:

  • Sets personal learning goals linked to their EHCP
  • Tracks progress through journals, photos, group reflections, and tutor feedback
  • Collects evidence of learning through practical tasks and social activities
  • Reviews and celebrates achievements through learner voice activities and progress reviews

FEES

Adults - ENTRY LEVEL/LEVEL 2

This course may be free if you meet certain conditions:

  • If you are not working or have a low income. You need to show proof of your income or benefits.
  • Residency rules apply. You need to show you have permission to live, work and study in the UK without conditions.
  • There are some exceptions, such as certain visa types.

If you do not meet the residency rules, you can still enrol on the course, but you may have to pay some fees. All applicants are fee-assessed during enrolment.

If you are not eligible for a free or reduced-cost course, you need to pay the full fee.
