ABOUT

The Level 1 Supported Internship is based at Moorfield Eye Hospital. Your classroom is based within the grounds of the hospital where a trainer and work coaches will support you.  This will enable you to develop your skills in a real-life working environment.

The first two weeks of the course will be based at our Finsbury Park Centre and after this period you will move over to Moorfield Eye Hospital. Throughout this period you will have the same trainer and coaches to ensure consistency.

Your day will consist of class-based learning as well as experience in different departments within the hospital.

You will have the opportunity of 3 rotations during the academic year, you will go through a process of applying for the placements, and your teaching team will support you in doing this.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

You will learn and develop your employability skills and gain experience in a real-life working environment.

You will be able to build your teamwork, networking and communication skills as well as IT and numeracy.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You will be working towards a Level 1 in Supported Learning.

You must have a valid EHCP.

COURSEWORK REQUIREMENTS

Assessments will be done on rotation in the workplace as well as portfolio-based learning.

For English and Maths, you will have the opportunity to gain either Functional Skills or a GCSE

FEES

AGED 16 - 24 with an Education, Health and Care Plan

There are no fees for learner aged 16 to 24 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

PROGRESSION

This internship offers you a wide range of careers within a hospital environment. In addition to this, you will gain experience wider experience in a wide range of fields.
