ABOUT

This qualification will prepare you for further learning and training whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting. It covers areas such as supporting the well-being of a child or young person and child and young person development.

You will learn how to present a professional image in an Early Years Placement whilst developing your English by combining your vocational qualification with an ESOL Entry Level 3 qualification.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

You will study 3 mandatory units:

  • Understand schools as an organisation
  • Understand how to keep children and young people healthy, safe and well
  • Understand how to communicate with children, young people and adults

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You should hold a Level 1 qualification in English and a Level 1 qualification in Maths.

COURSEWORK REQUIREMENTS

To achieve this qualification, you must complete 3 mandatory units.

This qualification will be internally assessed using a range of methods, which could include written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams, or setting up an information board.

FEES

Adults - ENTRY LEVEL/LEVEL 2

This course may be free if you meet certain conditions:

  • If you are not working or have a low income. You need to show proof of your income or benefits.
  • Residency rules apply. You need to show you have permission to live, work and study in the UK without conditions.
  • There are some exceptions, such as certain visa types.

If you do not meet the residency rules, you can still enrol on the course, but you may have to pay some fees. All applicants are fee-assessed during enrolment.

If you are not eligible for a free or reduced-cost course, you need to pay the full fee.
