ABOUT
If you're looking to change your career and need entry-level skills, this programme has been designed for you. Taught over 12 weeks, you will develop the basic specialist skills and knowledge in pastry, bakery and confectionery work so you can work in the pâtisserie and bakery sector.
WHAT WILL I STUDY?
This course covers basic techniques for bakery, pastry, and confectionery, including breads, pastry items, desserts, and biscuits.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
No previous experience is necessary.
All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
COURSEWORK REQUIREMENTS
The course is assessed throughout with practical assignments and written tests.
FEES
Adults - ENTRY LEVEL/LEVEL 2
This course may be free if you meet certain conditions:
- If you are not working or have a low income. You need to show proof of your income or benefits.
- Residency rules apply. You need to show you have permission to live, work and study in the UK without conditions.
- There are some exceptions, such as certain visa types.

If you do not meet the residency rules, you can still enrol on the course, but you may have to pay some fees. All applicants are fee-assessed during enrolment.
If you are not eligible for a free or reduced-cost course, you need to pay the full fee.
Some courses have other additional costs, such as for specialist materials and trips.

Additional Costs
The cost of this course is £300 per attendee, and in addition, you will be expected to purchase the required uniform and equipment for the programme, which reflects both industry norms and safety requirements. These should specifically conform to Capital City College standards and are approximately £350. Further information will be provided at enrolment. PROGRESSION
On successful completion of this course, you could progress to Patisserie and Confectionery - Level 2.
