Step into the future of creative production with our pioneering AI Generative Media course, part of the UAL Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology.
This innovative pathway explores how artificial intelligence is transforming media production – from generating visual assets and scripts to enhancing storytelling, post-production, and interactive experiences. You’ll experiment with emerging tools such as text-to-image generators, AI video editors, and machine learning algorithms while developing a critical understanding of the ethical, creative, and cultural implications of generative content.

Extended Diplomas have two one-year programmes. You need to finish the first year before moving on to the second.
On this exciting course, you'll explore a range of core and specialist units that develop your creative, technical, and critical thinking skills — all through the lens of AI and emerging technologies in media production.
You will work through practical projects, experimental briefs, and collaborative tasks that reflect real-world creative media industry practice.

To join this course, you should have:
4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English or Maths
or
A relevant Level 2 qualification (such as a UAL Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media or similar), with a Merit or Distinction, plus GCSE English or Maths at grade 4 or above
We also welcome applications from students with creative potential and a strong interest in media and technology, even if they don’t meet all academic criteria. In these cases, we may ask for:

This exciting and future-focused course prepares students for a wide range of creative careers in the rapidly evolving media and technology industries. Upon successful completion, students can progress to higher education courses such as BA (Hons) degrees in Digital Media Production, Creative Computing, Film and Television, Animation and VFX, or specialist areas like AI and Creative Technology.
The course also supports progression to Foundation Diplomas in Art, Design or Media. With a focus on emerging tools and creative workflows, students develop the practical, conceptual, and critical thinking skills needed for careers such as digital content creators, video editors, motion graphics designers, social media producers, or creative technologists.
