This course will introduce you to the world of digital computing and media, helping you develop the skills and confidence to explore creative opportunities.

Throughout the course, you will explore a variety of digital media platforms, techniques, and concepts, including general computing, concept art, game design, and animation. You’ll have the chance to experiment with different creative tools and develop a strong foundation in digital practices, allowing you to discover your unique artistic style and interests.

Through engaging, practical projects, you will learn how to communicate ideas effectively using digital media. The course encourages critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving, helping you understand the power of visual storytelling and the impact of digital media on society. You’ll also gain valuable technical and creative skills that will support your progression into further study or a future career in the creative industries.

Modules can include:

You will need:

• Four GCSEs at grade 2 or above or Entry 3 qualification in Computing

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

Assessment is continuous throughout the year and based on assignments and projects.

Adults - ENTRY LEVEL/LEVEL 2

This course may be free if you meet certain conditions:

• If you are not working or have a low income. You need to show proof of your income or benefits.
• Residency rules apply. You need to show you have permission to live, work and study in the UK without conditions.
• There are some exceptions, such as certain visa types.

If you do not meet the residency rules, you can still enrol on the course, but you may have to pay some fees. All applicants are fee-assessed during enrolment.

The qualification aims to develop transferable skills, attributes, and behaviours essential for further education and, ultimately, employment.

As a Level 1 qualification, achieving a pass requires you to complete routine, simple, and directed tasks by applying your knowledge and skills. You are expected to complete tasks under supervision, direction, or guidance. At merit and distinction levels, you may be required to complete tasks in greater detail or with increased confidence and independence.

This course will help you to move on to higher-level courses, such as a Level 2 Diploma in Computing/Digital IT or a pre-apprenticeship.

Designed to be taken over one year, the Diploma offers learners the opportunity to study a range of units from different sectors in the suite, supporting progression onto further study.

The purpose of these qualifications is to develop the transferable skills, attributes and behaviours needed for learners to progress to further study and ultimately to employment. The qualifications are designed to be delivered in an applied way, bringing together appropriate content with practical and technical skills.
