
A grade 4 or higher in GCSE Science is a requirement for many higher education courses and careers, including those in science, teaching and nursing.
Over the duration of the course, you will be equipped with a solid understanding of fundamental biological concepts and principles across biology, chemistry and physics. Lessons will take place in our specialist science laboratories and will combine theory lectures and practical sessions.
The Combined Science GCSE is equivalent to two GCSEs, graded using the linear 9-1 system, with examinations in June.

All applicants must have an assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
The course is assessed by six written exams, each worth 50% of the final marks. The exam questions will be a mixture of multiple choice, structured, closed short answer and open response questions.

If you do not meet the residency rules, you can still enrol on the course but you may have to pay some fees. All applicants are fee-assessed during enrolment.

You could progress to AS/A Level, or other courses such as teacher training, nursing for which a pass grade at GCSE is an entry requirement.
