WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Topics covered can include:

  • How chemical elements are joined together to form biological compounds
  • Cell structure and organisation
  • Cell membranes and transport
  • Biological reactions are regulated by enzymes
  • Nucleic acids and their functions

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You will need to meet the minimum entry criteria, plus: 

  • Triple Science grade 6 in Biology or Double Science grades 6 and 6
  • Maths grade 6. If you have a grade 5 in GCSE Maths you can still be accepted if you pass an entry maths test at enrolment and take a Maths for Biology class alongside Biology A Level.

Assessment is through examination at the end of two years.
