Beauty Therapy - Level 2 Diploma

This course will provide you with a range of essential technical and practical skills and knowledge, equipping you for work or further training within the beauty industry.

In addition to beauty-specific skills, you will also develop transferable skills, such as employability skills, teamwork and problem solving techniques, communications and customer care. You will also receive personal tutorials, which will provide opportunities to set meaningful targets for yourself and to carryout self-evaluation and reflection.

Topics covered can include:

• Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
• Promoting additional products or services to clients
• Developing and maintaining your effectiveness at work
• Improving and maintaining facial condition
• Providing eyelash and eyebrow treatments
• Removing hair using wax techniques
• Providing manicure treatment
• Providing pedicure treatment
• Providing make-up treatment

You will need:

• Four GCSEs including English and Maths at grade 3 or above or English and Maths Functional Skills at Level 1

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

You will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence, collected from written assessments, presentations, witness statements and practice observation.

AGED 16 - 18

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August 2025 before the start date of the course, and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your course then your study with us will be free.

Adults - LEVEL 2

This course may be free for you if you meet certain conditions:

• If you are not working or have a low income. You need to show proof of your income or benefits.
• If you are aged 19-23 and you do not have the equivalent of five GCSEs at grade 9-4. You need to show us proof of any qualifications you already have.
• Residency rules apply. You need to show you have permission to live, work and study in the UK without conditions.
• There are some exceptions, such as certain visa types.

If you do not meet the residency rules, you can still enrol on the course but you may have to pay some fees. All applicants are fee-assessed during enrolment.

On successful completion of this course, you could progress to higher level course, such as Level 3, an apprenticeship or other employment.

The Level 2 Beauty Therapy course is the ideal starting point for those individuals who wish to pursue a career as a Beauty Therapist. Our level 2 course is designed to provide you with the skills to gain employment as a junior therapist within the industry. You will study a range of beauty techniques, developing the skills you need to carry out facials, hair removal, manicures and pedicures, eyebrow and eyelash treatments and make-up services as well as following health and safety, promoting products and services and reception duties.

• Provide facial skincare
• Remove hair using waxing techniques
• Provide eyelash and brow treatments
• Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
• Provide manicure treatments
• Provide pedicure treatments
• Follow health and safety practices in the salon
• Salon reception duties
• Skin Tanning

You will need:

• English at a good level
• An interest in working in the Hair and Beauty industry
• An Academic reference with good attendance
• Commitment to finding a relevant industry work placement

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

You will be assessed on the practical work that you do in the beauty salon, as well as observations, an e-portfolio, online testing, assignments and oral questioning.

AGED 16 - 18
