This practical, work-related course will develop your skills and knowledge, and the confidence to progress towards higher level study in the applied sciences. The course is part of the college's Access provision, and many learners progress to a Level 3 Access to HE programme on completion of the course.
You will develop the skills and knowledge needed to begin a career in science, covering biology, chemistry and physics, with an emphasis on the work of scientists and technicians.

All applicants must have an interview and assessment to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
Assessment is continuous throughout the year and based on assignments and projects.
If you will be aged 19+ on 31st August prior to the start date of your course, up to Level 2, then your study with us will be free. You must have lived for 3 years within the EU/EEA/UK prior to the start of your course, you must have lived in the UK before 1st January 2021 and you must have permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months from the first day of learning. This course will help you to move on to higher-level courses, such as an Access to HE course, a specialist Level 3 Extended Diploma, or an Apprenticeship.
