
This course will help you become a more independent person in life, learning and work. This flexible qualification is designed to help you build your skills and knowledge in a wide range of areas, such as communication, reading and writing, mathematics, independent living, workplace skills or engaging with the world around you. You can choose units that suit you, whatever your interests are.
This course consists of main qualification, maths and English, enrichment, personal development and work experience/work related activity.

There are no qualifications required but an initial assessment will be carried to ensure course appropriateness. You will also need proof of current EHCP/proof of support needs and/or previous support received.
You will be assessed through a variety of methods based on course requirements and individual needs.

Throughout the course, you will be gathering evidence/information in each unit, using a range of methods.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. This course will provide personal skills to succeed in further study, in general day to day activities and employment.
