
This nail technology course covers an introduction to the nail care and enhancement section of the beauty therapy sector, giving you basic skills in areas such as manicures, pedicures, and nail art. Nail technology is a growing area in the UK, with the average British woman spending £450 on their nails each year, and visiting a nail salon at least twice a month.
Topics covered can include: Manicure and pedicure services Gel Polish Anatomy and physiology for hands and feet Introduction to working in the nail industry Nail enhancements Nail art services Employer engagement activities Health and safety Client care and salon reception duties Promote and retail products/services Eye treatments, make-up and tanning opportunities Creating an image
You will need: Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above or a relevant Level 1 qualification All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
You will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence, collected from written assessments, presentations, witness statements and practice observation.

If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips.
