Nail Services - Level 2 NVQ Diploma

This Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Nail Services covers an introduction to the nail care and enhancement section of the beauty therapy sector, giving you basic skills in areas such as manicures, pedicures, and nail art as well as enhancements. Nail services are a growing area in the UK, with the average British woman spending £450 on their nails each year and visiting a nail salon at least twice a month.

The course is taught on-site over 2 to 3 days. Topics covered can include:

• Provide manicure services
• Provide pedicure services
• Carry out nail art services
• Apply and maintain nail enhancements to create a natural finish
• Fulfil salon reception duties
• Develop and maintain effectiveness at work
• Promote additional services or products to customers
• Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety

You will need either:

• Beauty Therapy - Level 1 Certificate

Or

• English at Level 1

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

You will be assessed on the practical work that you do in the beauty salon, including treatments and reception duties. You will also be assessed on an e-portfolio, online testing, assignments, and oral questioning throughout the course.

AGED 16 - 18

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August 2025 before the start date of the course, and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your course then your study with us will be free.

Adults - LEVEL 2

This course may be free for you if you meet certain conditions:

• If you are not working or have a low income. You need to show proof of your income or benefits.
• If you are aged 19-23 and you do not have the equivalent of five GCSEs at grade 9-4. You need to show us proof of any qualifications you already have.
• Residency rules apply. You need to show you have permission to live, work and study in the UK without conditions.
• There are some exceptions, such as certain visa types.

If you do not meet the residency rules, you can still enrol on the course but you may have to pay some fees. All applicants are fee-assessed during enrolment.

If you are not eligible for a free or reduced-cost course, you need to pay the full fee.
