Nail Services - Level 2 NVQ Diploma

This Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Nail services covers an introduction to the nail care and enhancement section of the beauty therapy sector, giving you basic skills in areas such as manicures, pedicures, and nail art as well as enhancements. Nail services are a growing area in the UK, with the average British woman spending £450 on their nails each year and visiting a nail salon at least twice a month. 

The course is taught on-site over 2 to 3 days. Topics covered include:

• Provide manicure services
• Provide pedicure services
• Carry out nail art services 
• Apply and maintain nail enhancements to create a natural finish     
• Fulfil salon reception duties         
• Develop and maintain effectiveness at work     
• Promote additional services or products to customers
• Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety

You will need either:

• Beauty Therapy - Level 1 Certificate

OR

• English at Level 1

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

You will be assessed on the practical work that you do in the beauty salon including treatments and reception duties. You will also be assessed on an e-portfolio, online testing and assignments, and oral questioning throughout the course.

If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips.
