We offer a range of maths courses to help you develop the number skills you need for work and everyday life - even if you've been out of education for a while. From complete beginners to GCSE, they'll be a course at the right level for you.
Functional Skills Maths
We offer Functional Skills courses at Entry Level 2, Entry Level 3 and Level 1. The courses are 5 hours per week, starting in September and ending with two written exams in June. We run classes in either the morning or afternoon; some levels are also available as evening classes.
Functional Skills are widely recognised across all sectors of employment and can be a stepping stone to GCSE.
GCSE Maths
We offer GCSE Maths at both Foundation and Higher levels. The courses are 6 hours per week, starting in September and ending with three written exams in June. We run classes in the morning, afternoon or evening.
GCSE Maths at grade 4 or above is a minimum requirement for many jobs, vocational courses, further and Higher Education.
You will take part in a range of activities to refresh and develop your maths skills, building your confidence in dealing with numbers, including money, measurements and graphs.
Once you have applied, we will invite you for an interview and entry assessment, to determine which level of maths is suitable for you.
All applicants must have an entry assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
Your progress will be monitored in a variety of ways and we offer a range of qualifications to demonstrate your achievements.
From time to time the college may plan educational visits, the tutor will inform you of any costs, should you wish to participate.
The course will allow you to progress onto a range of opportunnities such as; higher education, promotion in your current job role, getting a job.
