
This course will provide you with a practical, real-world approach to learning, developing the specific knowledge you need to work successfully in the industry. You will learn about the online world, services and communication, and the impact it has on business, social networking and online security. Your technical skills will be developed by learning about hardware, software, networking and data and the relationship between them all. You will also gain creative, communication and presentation skills, through designing and producing a digital portfolio.

All applicants must have an interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
The course includes two externally assessed units with exams, with the other units being assessed through coursework.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. This course will help you to move on to higher level courses, such as a Level 3 course or an apprenticeship.
