
In this course, you will develop the skills you need to creatively cut hair using a combination of techniques such as styling and colouring. You will learn how to provide an effective hairdressing consultation, as well as promote additional services and products to clients.
Throughout the course, you will monitor procedures to ensure that the salon operates safely in all areas. You will have plenty of opportunities to practise what you are learning with real customers in our salon, under the guidance of professional beauty experts. In addition, you will gain an understanding of the relevant anatomy and physiology and will further develop your English skills.

All applicants must have an interview and assessment to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
You will be assessed on the practical work that you do in the salon as well as through observations, an e-portfolio, online testing, assignments and oral questioning.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, you may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost of your course.
