Creative Media Production - Level 1 Diploma

This course is designed to provide you with an opportunity to explore materials, methods and processes that support many art, design and media activities, and to begin to develop related skills.

Topics covered can include:

• Introduction to materials, processes and skills in art, design and media
• Introduction to contextual research in art, design and media
• Introduction to communication skills in art, design and media
• Solving 2D creative problems
• Solving 3D creative problems
• Solving time-based creative problems
• Art, design and media projec

You will need:

• Four GCSEs at grade 2 or above, including English Language and Maths or relevant Entry Level 3 qualification with Functional Skills English and Maths at Entry Level 3
• A reference from your previous school/college

All applicants must have an interview and assessment to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

The course is assessed throughout the year and with an end-of-course portfolio.

School Leavers

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. This course will help you to move on to further study, such as a Level 2 course or an apprenticeship.
