
This qualification is designed to introduce you to the skills and knowledge needed to care for young children, from birth to 5 years 11 months.
You will develop skills in working with young children; it is also suitable for parents who wish to develop parenting skills, mature learners with special educational needs, or where English is an additional language.

All applicants must have an interview and assessment to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
This course is assessed by practical observation, assignment writing and external examinations.
Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. This course will help you to move on to higher level courses, such as a Level 2 qualification or an apprenticeship.
