ABOUT THE COURSE

This course will help you will develop your skills and knowledge for studying or working in business, enterprise, marketing, finance or accounting, specialising in either marketing or finance in the second year. Emphasis is on understanding why business skills and knowledge are important, particularly in a work-related environment. You will attend master classes and Q & A sessions with industry experts, visit companies and exhibitions, take part in enterprise activities and competitions and network with industry and former students about their experiences.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Topics covered may include:Exploring BusinessDeveloping a Marketing CampaignManaging an Event Team Building in Business Digital Marketing Recording Financial Transactions

WHAT WILL I NEED?

You will need:Four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language and Maths or an equivalent Level 2 qualification at Merit (and Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 2/GCSE English Language and Maths at grade 4 or above)All applicants must have an interview and initial assessment to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

The course is assessed throughout the year with work placement observations, in class tests, presentations, projects, reports, essays and externally assessed exams. You will be required to pass all external exams, complete all coursework and receive positive feedback from your work placement officer in order to achieve your qualification.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. Adults

Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

This course will support learners who want to progress directly to employment in job roles in business or business management and/or provide a solid platform to progress onto Higher Education degree or apprenciship programs.
