If you are an adult and have learning difficulties or disabilities, this course can help you develop employability skills, as well as gain knowledge and experience in ICT.
WHAT WILL I STUDY?
You will develop your skills in communicating via email and learn the basic functions of the keyboard. You will learn how to present documents and to use different Microsoft Word templates. This includes using specific functionality to ensure mistakes are corrected, e.g. spell check. You will also learn how to save and store files before learning how to retrieve them.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no qualifications required, but an Initial Assessment will be carried out to ensure course appropriateness. Proof of support needs and/or previous support received.
COURSEWORK REQUIREMENTS
You will be assessed through a variety of methods based on course requirements and individual needs. For example:
Observations
Workbooks
Practical activities
Questioning
Peer feedback
Throughout the course, you will be gathering evidence/information in each unit. There are different methods of evidence that can be gathered to meet individual needs.
FEES
Adults - ENTRY LEVEL/LEVEL 2
This course may be free if you meet certain conditions:
If you are not working or have a low income. You need to show proof of your income or benefits.
Residency rules apply. You need to show you have permission to live, work and study in the UK without conditions.
There are some exceptions, such as certain visa types.
Check here which documents you need to show us and which visa types are allowed.
If you do not meet the residency rules, you can still enrol on the course, but you may have to pay some fees. All applicants are fee-assessed during enrolment.
If you are not eligible for a free or reduced-cost course, you need to pay the full fee.
Some courses have other additional costs, such as for specialist materials and trips.

PROGRESSION
You may progress into work and potentially onto supported internships.
