Hair and Beauty: Hairdressing (Vocational Studies) - Level 1 Certificate

This skills development course is particularly suitable for anyone who wishes to gain initial insights or progress from Entry Level to a Level 1 qualification in Hair and Beauty to start work in the industry.

After the initial 2-week introduction, learners will have a choice of pathways:

  • Hairdressing, including Shampoo and Conditioning, Hair Plaiting and Styling
  • Beauty Therapy, including Skin Care, Make-up, Nail Art, Manicure and Pedicure
  • Barbering, including Shampoo and Conditioning, Styling Men's Hair and using temporary colour
  • Make-up, including skin care, make-up, and face painting
  • Nails, including Pedicure, Manicure and Hand care

By completing the full 12-week course, there is an opportunity to gain the Level 1 Certificate in Hair and Beauty Skills.

You will study Hairdressing, Beauty, Make-up or Nails depending on the pathway you choose.

There is no assessment for this 2-week introductory course

Adults - ENTRY LEVEL/LEVEL 2

This course may be free if you meet certain conditions:

  • If you are not working or have a low income. You need to show proof of your income or benefits.
  • Residency rules apply. You need to show you have permission to live, work and study in the UK without conditions.
  • There are some exceptions, such as certain visa types.

If you do not meet the residency rules, you can still enrol on the course, but you may have to pay some fees. All applicants are fee-assessed during enrolment.

If you are not eligible for a free or reduced-cost course, you need to pay the full fee.

PROGRESSION

By completing the full 12-week course, there is an opportunity to gain the Level 1 Certificate in Hair and Beauty Skills, which will allow you to progress into the Level 2 certificate programme.
