
Chemistry allows you to study the basis of all chemical substances, the understanding of which has greatly improved the quality of life for most people around the world.
Our A Level course is underpinned by the practical skills that we call ‘How Science Works’. You will find out how chemists are real innovators, designing solutions to the problems that affect modern life, and using practical experiments and theory to underpin your knowledge.

One other A-level science or maths subject must be studied alongside A-level Chemistry
During the first year, you will have an initial assessment followed by four progress assessments throughout year 12. You must pass the assessment at the end of the first year to progress on to the second year.
At the end of the second year, you will sit three public examinations. You will also be assessed throughout the year on practical work completed to achieve your practical endorsement.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August 2025 before the start date of the course, and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your course then your study with us will be free.

A Levels are widely regarded as the standard entry qualification for top universities in the UK, and the rest of the world.
Many of our students go on to study for a degree at the university of their choice, with some choosing to progress into apprenticeships or other employment.
