ABOUT THE COURSE

In this course, you will develop the skills you need to build a career including teamwork, innovation and entrepreneurship, and you will also have the opportunity to explore your chosen subject in more detail. As part of the qualification, you have the option to specialise in Travel and Hospitality. In addition to this, students will also study either GCSE or Functional Skills in English and Mathematics depending on their grades.

This qualification is for all learners who want to continue their education and develop their skills for progression to further learning and, ultimately, to employment. 

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

The course is made up of ten units, four core units (Being Organised and Developing a Personal Progression Plan), and three optional units. You will study different optional units depending on your specialism.

Throughout the course, you will learn a variety of topics based on the subject of specialism Hospitality. You will have the opportunity to visit real businesses and hear from industry experts. You will meet with your personal tutor for group meetings and for one-to-one meetings on a regular basis.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

Minimum of 3 GCSEs including Maths and English or a previous qualification. You will be assessed to ensure you will be able to achieve well on the course.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

The course is currently 100% coursework and you will be assessed in a variety of ways, presentations, role plays and time-limited exercises.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

Aged 16-18


If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August prior to the start date of your course and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your programme then your study with us will be free. Please see here for the documents you will need to show us.

Adults - Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2


If you will be aged 19+ on 31st August prior to the start date of your course, up to Level 2, then your study with us will be free. You must have lived for 3 years within the EU/EEA/UK prior to the start of your course, you must have lived in the UK before 1st January 2021 and you must have permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months from the first day of learning. WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

The course provides progression routes into work, apprenticeship or further study at level 2. The course will help develop your employability skills including teamwork, communication and numeracy skills and provide an insight into a variety of topics such as Exploring a Local Tourist Attraction.

You will have the opportunity to progress to Level 2 in courses such as Travel and Tourism / Sport /  Business or your chosen industry-related subject.
