Health and Social Care - Entry Level 3 Certificate

This Gateway qualification has been specifically designed to give you an introduction to working in health and social care, giving you the opportunity to improve your literacy, numeracy and ICT skills alongside learning about the sector.

Topics covered can include:

• Equality and Inclusion
• Person-Centred Support
• Principles and Values
• Working in Health and Social Care
• Protection and Safeguarding
• Effective Communication
• Employability Skills

You do not need to have any previous qualifications.

You will need:

• An enhanced DBS check

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

You will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence, collected from written assessments, presentations, witness statements and practice observation.

School Leavers

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. Adults

Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. The course offers you the opportunity to develop your personal and professional skills to help prepare you for further study at Level 1, an apprenticeship or other employment.
