
This qualification enables you to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to progress to further learning or training qualifications in Engineering at a higher level. They also provide you with the opportunity to develop wider personal and employability skills with optional units in personal, learning and thinking skills and employability.

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
You will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence, collected from written assessments, presentations, witness statements and practical observation.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Once you succesfully complete your course, you will receive a Gateway Level 1 Diploma in Engineering and progress to Level 2 Diploma in Engineering.to further improve your knowledge and skills.
