
This Level 2 course builds upon your previous knowledge, equipping you with the core technical knowledge and practical skills needed for further study and employment, teaching you how to install electrical systems and equipment.
Through a mixture of practical work and theory, you will gain a good understanding of electrical science, information technology, health and safety, communications and numeracy. This course is highly regarded by the industry, and leads to qualified electrician status.

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
You will complete a number of online exams and classroom tests, as well as completing a range of practical assessments in the workshops.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. On successful completion of the course, you can either progress onto a Level 3 course, or employment, including an apprenticeship.
